Italian vintage roses - a fairytale

I love wearing roses in the summer. This beautiful 50's skirt is one of a kind. It's made out of silk and has gigantic deeply pink roses stiched to it. It's made in Firenze, one of my favourite places in Italy. Even the label is beautiful in itself.

The lady I bought it from had won at an auction in Paris. Apparently someone had left it in the drycleaners over 30 years ago and never picked it up. The dry cleaner finally donated it to a Parisian auction house. It feels almost new, even though it´s 60 years old. I love when you have the privilege to know the story of a vintage item. It makes it even more special. A vintage fairytale.

  10. Oh my gosh, such a beautiful skirt! I love rose motifs and all clothing that features them. I love that you know the story behind it too, vintage is much better when you know where it came from, rare as it is.

My blog name is in swedish but i'm not, i'm from Barcelona, but I love all about Sweden: cities, landscapes, lifestyle, design, ikea, h&m, roxette, hahaha... and in Spain there is an spanish proverb "after the storm comes the calm" that means that after something bad always comes something good...
I think it's interesting to ask what happens after the storm... it rains over wet? or comes the calm? haha... All these reasons made me put that name to the blog and was in Swedish because I saw it in a song of Marie Fredriksson

Thanks for your interest and for stopping in my blog
    xoxo
