Silky 60's
Oh how I love the pattern on this dress. Flowers, birds and fantasy! And it's made of the silkiest of silks. It's from the 60's and very well preserved. I bought it on the Swedish ebay. I jumped with joy when I won the auction. Everybody that reads my blog knows that I have a weak spot for silk and patterns that flirts with japanese kimonos. This dress has it all! Hurray!
I love it so much that I can't stand to hide it in my closet. It hangs in my living room like a piece of art.
Do you have any clothes hanging in your home, cus you can't stand it hiding in the wardrobe?

Oh it's gorgeous - the colours look so vibrant. I bet it feels gorgeous on too. I usually hang shirts and such to dry on hangers against the bookshelves in our living room, but I guess that's more for practical reasons than anything else (although I do like looking at the clothes whilst it's there). I do hang the garments I'm most into at a given moment against the doors of the closet in the bedroom for decorative purposes though. Plus, it keeps my brain continually active on the topic of what to wear them with.

Such a stunning print - that detail around the collar/neckline is beautiful. What a find! I used to hang pretty sheer blouses or skirts that I had made on my mannequin in the hallway as a decorative element - beautiful things need to be shared and shown I think. :)
SvaraRaderaSuch a beautiful dress Petra! yes, this is definitely worth to show and not to hide!

WOW! That dress is superb! I love Asian inspired pieces too.
SvaraRaderaI have a 70s chiffon pink maxi dress with a rhinestone buckle and a chiffon shoulder sash that hangs on the back of my bedroom door. I wore it for my 21st birthday party and it's now too fragile to wear. But it's so beautiful to look at!
Wow just discovered your wonderful blog...your newest follower! Love your style & this dress is one of a kind! xoxo :)

Oh, I love this! As for clothes as art, I mostly display my hats! In particular, the huge straw one I was given as a gift! Love! xo
SvaraRaderaBeautiful print. I have a 1970s blue dress with an awesome collar hanging in my craft room. I only recently bought it and can't bare to put it away. You can see it here: http://whatpeggysaid.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/saturday-vintage-dress-shopping-other.html

it's a beautiful garment, truly a piece of art, I don't have clothes hanging in my house, except some vintage gloves over picture frames but nothing so pretty and unique to hang it in the wall. =)
