Here are some glimpses of what I am up to. I've been in Los Angeles and California for almost a month, seeking inspiration and making purchases for my soon-to-opened online vintage shop.<br />
I have visited some very inspiring vintage shops, boutiques and markets. I really loved L.A and could easily picture myself living there.<br />
Back in Stockholm - I am setting up my online vintage shop. I just took a break from my job as a freelance journalist, so that I have the time to set up everything just the way I want it to be.<br />
<br />
I am really excited and it´s a dream come true!!<br />
<br />
I will bring my blog back to life again as I have missed blogging a lot.<br />

<br />
I love wearing roses in the summer. This beautiful 50's skirt is one of a kind. It's made out of silk and has gigantic deeply pink roses stiched to it. It's made in Firenze, one of my favourite places in Italy. Even the label is beautiful in itself.<br />
<br />
The lady I bought it from had won at an auction in Paris. Apparently someone had left it in the drycleaners over 30 years ago and never picked it up. The dry cleaner finally donated it to a Parisian auction house. It feels almost new, even though it´s 60 years old. I love when you have the privilege to know the story of a vintage item. It makes it even more special. A vintage fairytale.Thea vintagehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10951553873220463993noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1253821775045388943.post-29984306351961150692012-07-11T17:11:00.000+02:002012-07-11T17:11:23.832+02:00Art deco inspired fan earrings<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I've been on the hunt for fan-shaped golden earrings for a long time. I found a pair last week. And now the hunt is over...not. I want more of them - in different colours and materials. Someone has given the pair I found much love and they've been worn a lot. But you can still see the beautiful pattern showing a japanese dragon and a bonsai tree.<br />
<br />
I remember that my mum used to have earrings like these in the 80's. I always played with them, pretending that they were folding fans for my Barbie dolls. I must admit that I still can't leave them alone. I find myself folding them back and forth all the time.<br />

<br />
Oh how I love the pattern on this dress. Flowers, birds and fantasy! And it's made of the silkiest of silks. It's from the 60's and very well preserved. I bought it on the Swedish ebay. I jumped with joy when I won the auction. Everybody that reads my blog knows that I have a weak spot for silk and patterns that flirts with japanese kimonos. This dress has it all! Hurray!<br />
<br />
I love it so much that I can't stand to hide it in my closet. It hangs in my living room like a piece of art.<br />
<br />
Do you have any clothes hanging in your home, cus you can't stand it hiding in the wardrobe?<br />

Last year, when visiting a small second hand shop in New York, I found this Alexander McQueen sweater. It looks a bit futuristic and like a space uniform. I fell in love immediently, and was suprised that the price tag read 20 dollars. What a score!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I, like many others, love the fashion house and I dream of owning more of it's fantastic creations. I recently spotted these velvet loafers at net - a - porter.com and I want them so badly. </div>

I styled my McQueen bargain with 40's high heeled shoes. I found them in a Goodwill shop. Summer has arrived in Stockholm. Finally! I've been overloaded with work and had a small holiday in Helsinki, Finland. Therefore my blog has been silent for a while. But now I'm back, with more energy and lots more vintage.<br />
<br />
I found this 1930's vintage pyjama at a small fleamarket. The woman who sold it to me said it used to belong to a very rich old lady in the "upper east side" parts of Stockholm.Thea vintagehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10951553873220463993noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1253821775045388943.post-44466400715728788972012-05-11T09:42:00.000+02:002013-04-02T16:30:54.026+02:00Ossie Clark - a true fashion icon<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">Last week during my weekly visit to the local goodwill shop I found this dress. At first glance I thought it looked like something that had been given by a theatre costume department. On the hanger it looked a bit slouchy and shabby. But there where something about the colour and the material that made me bring it to the changing room. I looked at the garment tag and realized that this was no shabby long forgotten dress - this was an original OSSIE CLARK for Radley dress. </span></div>

I jumped in joy when I saw these deep blue flats in a Etsy boutique. Not only where they covered with stars. They were covered in golden stars! And they were in my size!<br />

Lovely lace! This 1950's blouse is made of silk and the lace is so delicate. I found this piece at a second hand shop and it's in really good condition. I can't resist this type of blouses and I own loads. Hey, maybe I should start collecting them?<br />
<br />
The silk skirt is vintage and I kind of like the layers. In the pic they almost look like funny shorts. But I assure you it's a skirt. I bought it at my local goodwill shop.<br />
<br />
This post was inspired by the adorable lace dress that Emily Weiss is wearing. I hope to find one just like it. That would make my day!Thea vintagehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10951553873220463993noreply@blogger.com26tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1253821775045388943.post-86172970846682492932012-03-22T14:44:00.000+01:002012-03-22T14:44:42.375+01:00Oh la la! Yves Saint Laurent<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SQUMyc4LNNU/T2sjbQINToI/AAAAAAAAAMg/QOB7Unmawf0/s1600/green.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SQUMyc4LNNU/T2sjbQINToI/AAAAAAAAAMg/QOB7Unmawf0/s1600/green.jpg" /></a></div>Outside it's starting to blossom and everywhere the colour green pops up. When at my local goodwill shop yesterday, this green striped creation suddenly appeared. Like it had been waiting for springtime to show itself. It's Yves Saint Laurent and I think it looks fantastic. It has such a nice 70's Riviera feel about it. I fell madly in love and feel grateful to the vintage gods.<br />
<br />
Sometimes true happiness is simply green stripes á la YSL.<br />
<br />
Today I wear the skirt with my Swedish hasbeens (of course), a vintage reptile bracelet and a vintage silk shirt.Thea vintagehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10951553873220463993noreply@blogger.com19tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1253821775045388943.post-45619048443383460972012-03-15T17:39:00.000+01:002012-03-15T17:39:48.469+01:00Lilac kimono<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Q0s5F7BA21I/T2IWUMJ0yMI/AAAAAAAAALk/WnwHyrMFbPM/s1600/purple.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Q0s5F7BA21I/T2IWUMJ0yMI/AAAAAAAAALk/WnwHyrMFbPM/s1600/purple.jpg" /></a></div><br />

When I first saw Eri, a vintage boutique owner from Tokyo, on Natalie Joos site Tales of Endearment, I was enchanted. I truly love Eri's clothing style and taste in interior.<br />
<br />
I love kimonos - especially really old ones with floral motifs. I bought this one at a small second hand shop. It's old and made of the most beautiful silk. Unfortunately the colour doesn't suit me, but I love it anyways. It hangs on my wall like a piece of art.<br />
<br />
And lilacs! One of my favourite flowers, the smell is heavenly and the colour is divine. I would love to have a perfume smelling like lilacs.Thea vintagehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10951553873220463993noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1253821775045388943.post-29380722490392123542012-03-12T14:37:00.000+01:002012-03-12T14:37:35.055+01:00Cocktail of turquoise and blue<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-G2gtrrFx7PE/T13yFH3gm0I/AAAAAAAAAK0/KIDK1E5TgIo/s1600/turkos.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-G2gtrrFx7PE/T13yFH3gm0I/AAAAAAAAAK0/KIDK1E5TgIo/s1600/turkos.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: right;">Last photo: Source unknown</div><br />
Shades of blue and turquoise inspire me today. Maybe it's because the sky in Sweden is full of these colours, especially now, at sunset in spring.<br />

The 80's shoes are bought from a small goodwill shop in Västervik, a costal town right by the Baltic sea. They are cute as well as ugly - as a lot of my shoes are. I seem to have a soft spot for quirky 80's shoes.<br />

The cocktail ring is from the 60's and my latest treasure. It's very heavy and the details are exquisite. I found it on Etsy and bought it straight away. It flew to me all the way from NYC. I wonder how many fancy dress parties it has attended during it's posh life in the big city?Thea vintagehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10951553873220463993noreply@blogger.com15tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1253821775045388943.post-6184239916487179432012-03-07T16:01:00.000+01:002012-03-07T16:01:54.790+01:00Sunny yellow and peachy pink<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-T6dzV-ot2sM/T1dxVrUbRlI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/kZjhzieYcLk/s1600/orange.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-T6dzV-ot2sM/T1dxVrUbRlI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/kZjhzieYcLk/s1600/orange.jpg" /></a></div><div><br />

</div><div>Smiles, sun and colour. I have always loved vivid colours - and right now bright sunny yellow and peachy pink is one of my favourite combos. When I found the yellow skirt, at a goodwill store in Stockholm, it instantly put a smile on my face. I always feel a bit brave wearing it, beacuse dark long days during wintertime in Sweden makes you wanna dress in gray and black. </div><div><div><br />
</div><div>The shirt is from my local goodwill store. I won the necklace at a auction on Swedish ebay. It's made in the 70's by finnish design studio Kalevala. The ring used to belong to my late grandmother and it's from the 20's. </div><div><br />
</div><div>Love the picture of Natalie Joos, Elisa Nalin and Tamu Mcpherson. I loved it so much, it inspired my outfit today. </div></div>Thea vintagehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10951553873220463993noreply@blogger.com16tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1253821775045388943.post-62072129106464261262012-02-26T15:26:00.003+01:002012-03-15T17:43:00.202+01:00B-day in bloom<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AiGHct6YgGc/T0pAgRUY2oI/AAAAAAAAABc/uEUb0rWh2Ks/s1600/bild.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AiGHct6YgGc/T0pAgRUY2oI/AAAAAAAAABc/uEUb0rWh2Ks/s400/bild.JPG" width="298" /></a></div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SwgDN9VDwE8/T0o5UxW37aI/AAAAAAAAABU/UARdccOtqZE/s1600/bild.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SwgDN9VDwE8/T0o5UxW37aI/AAAAAAAAABU/UARdccOtqZE/s400/bild.JPG" width="298" /></a><br />
<br />
Today is my birthday. To celebrate I bought a mannequin for myself and started this blog. In the future I plan to start a online vintage shop so I hope there will be more reasons to celebrate soon.<br />
<br />
I found this silk kimono in a flea market near my home in Stockholm. I got it for only 20 swedish kronor – about 3 dollars. It is one of my most beloved vintage pieces.<br />
Both of the necklaces are thrifted.Thea vintagehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10951553873220463993noreply@blogger.com1
